HELIOS Software presents new UB2 software featuring remote proofing and approvals at IFRA

Hierarchical annotations and color inspector for preview files enhance remote soft proofing, optimized WebShare UB2 user interface, and iPad support for easy remote preview and approval access, are highlights of upcoming HELIOS UB2 shown at IFRA Expo.

Hannover, Germany, September 29, 2010 – HELIOS Software unveils UB2, the next generation of its server software suite, at IFRA Expo (October 4-6, 2010, booth #1.545 in hall A1) in Hamburg, Germany. Enhanced certified remote soft proofing features including multi-level annotations and a web-based color inspector will be presented. HELIOS WebShare UB2 makes remote file access, review, and proofing of prepress jobs more convenient, and will make the design and approval process faster and more reliable.
HELIOS UB2 also introduces iPad support for easy real-time preview and annotation of image files, as well as PDF, QuarkXPress, Adobe InDesign, and Office documents.
The new annotation feature allows remote users to place comments on a file preview, and to change document status. A comment can be the starting point for an online discussion, which is saved on the server for future access. Each new version of a reviewed file will inherit the comments and replies of its predecessor.
With the new color inspector panel, users can check precise numeric color values within the proofing mode of WebShare UB2. The displayed CMYK values, picked from the rendered print data, allow remote checking of print color values throughout the design and review process. In combination with the new annotation feature, remote approvals will be highly accurate and most efficient.
