HELIOS G8 server products on macOS

HELIOS G8 products are compatible with macOS 10.11 - 10.15 and macOS 11 aka “Big Sur”.

After the installation disk image (cd027.iso) was downloaded from our server it does have the “com.apple.quarantine” attribute assigned as any other download from the Internet on current macOS releases.

This leads to warning or error messages:

macOS 10.11 – 10.14
issues just a warning:

“HELIOS Installer.app” is an app downloaded from the Internet. Are you sure you want to open it?

It is sufficient to click “Open” to start the HELIOS installation.

macOS 10.15, macOS 11, macOS 12
issues an error message:

“HELIOS Installer.app” can't be opened because Apple cannot check it for malicious software.

It cannot be started anymore. This issue can be solved by removing the quarantine attribute from the disk image.
In Terminal “cd” to the installer image location.
xattr -l cd027.iso
lists among others the “com.apple.quarantine” flag. It can be removed via
xattr -d com.apple.quarantine cd027.iso

Now you can mount the disk image and start the “HELIOS Installer” application without any issues.
