HELIOS presents new iPad document publishing platform at drupa

The new HELIOS iPad Document Hub publishing platform offers a turnkey solution to present server hosted documents and images on iPads. The app source code is available to allow development of unrestricted customized solutions or apps for individual businesses.

Hannover, Germany, May 2, 2012 – Integrators, vendors, pre-media companies and publishing houses are looking for ways to develop their own individually branded and customized iPad apps, to present content on iOS devices. HELIOS Software GmbH, a leading developer of cross-platform file, print, image, proofing, remote collaboration, and PDF server software, simplifies this trend with its new iPad Document Hub publishing platform and app for iOS, which will be presented at drupa 2012 (Hall 09/D04).
The HELIOS iPad Document Hub publishing platform is a scalable, secure, and powerful client/server solution for building unrestricted apps, and for unlimited publishing of content without any charge per app, content or use. Customers can securely host all content on their own server to be synchronized to app users on Apple iPad or iPhone.
“We talked to customers, integrators and vendors. Everyone wants to develop their own iPad solutions to publish documents and media files,” explained Helmut Tschemernjak, President and founder of HELIOS Software.
“Businesses don't want to be locked into a single vendor’s publishing and hosting platform or to be limited in app features.” According to Tschemernjak, “Customers want to “own” their apps entirely without any restrictions or foreign copyright notices.”.
For this reason, the complete app source code will be available as a foundation to encourage custom app development, with the benefit of huge development savings and faster time to market. The iPad Document Hub publishing platform has no dependency on vendor hosting, and is free of any annual charges.
