With HELIOS UB64 the HELIOS machine ID on Solaris 10 x86 hardware is determined by another mechanism which will prevent that the machine ID may change when changing network interfaces.
Customers who intend to switch to HELIOS UB64 on Solaris 10 x86 hardware should determine the new HELIOS machine ID before installing and add a note to the Symphony “UB64 Key Request” that the MachID has changed and provide the new MachID.
In case the customer switches to a new server a completed and signed key transfer request with the old and new machine ID is required by fax. The “Key Transfer Form” is available in the Symphony “Media Library”.
You can determine the new HELIOS machine ID from within the “HELIOS Installer”. You need not install HELIOS UB64 immediately.
Simply start the installer and continue until you reach the installation menu. At the top you will then see:
HELIOS MachID: <machine ID>
Note down the new machine ID.
You can either leave the installer with Quit
or continue when you have received the new keys.
